Would You Like to Become an IRIS Volunteer?

IRIS produces readings of eleven Iowa newspapers plus other publications.

The Des Moines Register is read aloud LIVE from our Des Moines studios seven days a week.

Other newspapers and programs are recorded at our Des Moines studios as well.

BUT YOU DON’T HAVE TO LIVE NEAR DES MOINES!

IRIS celebrates volunteers who read from their homes across the state every day! Folks record on their smartphones or computers and send the recordings in to IRIS where we produce your file into a finished show.

READING FROM HOME IS EASY!

And you don’t even have to leave the house! We’ll walk you through the process.

If you are not interested in reading aloud, we have plenty of opportunities to record print material. We also welcome students and adults who have some time to help with radio repair and delivery, newsletter preparation, special events, and other projects.

WE WOULD LOVE TO GET YOU STARTED!

Simply fill out the application below and hit “submit”.

After you submit an application, PLEASE KEEP AN EYE ON YOUR SPAM FOLDERS! Lately, our responses to your applications have been going to spam. Look for an email from IRIS@IowaRadioReading.org.
